Sports video games are a regular occurrence in the Video Game landscape. They come out around the same time every year. Many people love taking their favorite team, or in some cases the worst team, and taking them through the years either rebuilding the team or winning 12 straight championships (see Madden 2006 on my xbox).
For me Franchise is ok. I'll start and finish like one year (madden) or about a week (mlb). For me its all about CAREER MODES. I love taking a player from scratch and trying to become a hall of famer. I have career modes currently going in: MLB 2k10, 2k11, 2k12. NBA 2k12. NCAA Football 12, MLB 10: The Show and NHL 12.
The 2k Baseball games are fun in the sense its easy for me to put up absolutely insane stats, such as over 100 Homeruns in a season. The Show takes more effort and is a much harder, yet more rewarding experience.
Since I get lazy and have trouble writing posts I shall start tracking some of my stuff on here. Its fine if you don't want to read it, but hey, it gives me post material!

Post number 40, COMIN' RIGHT AT-CHA.
Have you ever had one of those times where you are driven to buy something for purely nostalgic reasons? The "Oh man I love and remember those things" type of experience?
I had one of those the other day while on Amazon. I bought some Japanese Pokemon cards. I actually miss collecting them, in all honesty. I loved all the Cards, Japanese and American. So, I went ahead and ordered some packs off of Amazon. It was fun and I enjoyed opening them again. Its been almost 10 or more years since I had that rush of opening a pack of cards and seeing what you got.

These were the three I got. One gym leader, and Two Team Rocket packs.
I always loved the Team Rocket packs a lot. Mostly because of the dark pokemon and the like. Another Reason I liked the Japanese packs was for the Holographic each and every pack (which in a way is happening in the American packs now). This brought back a lot of memories though.

I was very excited to get the Dark Charizard (featured on the right) out of my Team Rocket pack. I didn't have that card and it was cool to get him, plus he just looks like a badass on the artwork! This has sort of refueled my desire to collect something once again. I felt something had been missing and this just might be it. Bring on the Cards!

Whats it like?
As I watched today's Superbowl and continued to watch as the Giants were presented with the Lombardy Trophy it got me thinking......
Whats it like to actually see your team win a SuperBowl?
I have no idea what the feeling is like. The Redskins have won 3 Superbowl championships and made 5 trips to the Superbowl. They won the Superbowl in 82', 87', and 91'. Of course my age for each Superbowl was - 82': -5, 87': 7 months old, 91': 4 years old give or take.
So, as you can see, I've been alive during some of their winning, but I wasn't old enough for any of it to matter and don't remember anything from 1991. All I've endured my whole football watching life is ridicule because of how bad the Redskins have been. I've seen only 2 trips to the playoffs in 2005, and 2007. I didn't start really paying attention to football until 2001, I believe. So, all I've had is garbage awful teams year in, year out. With everyone ragging on my team with annoying as F#%k nicknames. All I've gotten for my loyalty is 2 playoff trips, 1-2 record in those 2 playoff trips, a favorite player dead (Sean Taylor #21), and lots of grief from people just proclaiming they suck.
I honestly have no idea how I'd react if they won a Superbowl in my lifetime. I really don't. Those so much pent up feeling of losing and something will go bad as the norm it almost doesn't even seem possible.
I honestly just want to be able to share a Superbowl win with my Dad during both of our lifetimes, Together.
I also wouldn't be surprised if I cried.

Work in progress or Back-up in case of computer mess up?
Indentured servants faced a tough road to get to the new land. Mittelberger wrote a telling account of the whole process that occurs on the trip to the new world. He told of the horrors and tragedy that befalls all members from crew to passengers and the rules that applied to paying for passage. The process once they make it to Philadelphia is quite similar to how Slaves were treated when brought over to America.
Mittelberger wrote about the very process of transporting indentured servants from Rotterdam and Amsterdam and how things were on the ships. From reading this account of the travel conditions it seemed to me that, at first, he was never on one of these ships and was just getting an account from a person who did travel. On second glance though where he describes the passage of “Children from 1 to 7 years rarely survive the voyage. I witnessed…” I decided that he did acquire this knowledge first hand and it is indeed his own personal account of the voyage. I do not take issue with anything he wrote and believe all of it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did put some things in here to sensationalize certain parts of the voyage. One such instance in which I am referencing is when he discusses throwing children that had died into the sea he described them as being “devoured by the monsters of the sea”. I know what he meant by this statement it just makes it seem more extreme and invokes images of giants squids and sea monsters as opposed to ordinary things such as sharks and the like.
While reading through this piece written by Mr. Mittelberger I couldn’t help but imagine myself on that boat and how I would react to all the situations. First off I know for certain I would not be able to stand being that close to so many people for that long. I have recently discovered I am somewhat claustrophobic and the small space you have to sleep in would be too small for me to handle, more than likely. I also do not think it would invoke a positive reaction in me to see all those sick and dying children. That would more than likely consume all my thoughts and dreams and that along with the being stuck in one place feeling would tend to cause a man to go mad. If you manage to get through this with your mind intact you have to hope you can keep healthy once you get close to land. If I made it all the way the Philadelphia docks, healthy, then I had a high probability of being bought and working to pay off my passage. Before I read this account from Mittelberger I always viewed indentured servants as a sort of contract based people that just worked for free essentially and were not treated too bad. However, after taking a look in the book titled “Give me Liberty: An American History” by Eric Foner I have a sort of different view on the matter. According to Foner in his book Give Me Liberty “Elizabeth Sprigs, an indentured servant in Maryland who described being forced to work “day and night…then tied up and whipped” and “Given the high death rate, many servants did not live to the end of their terms”(Foner Pg. 52). This sort of changed my view on it. I always knew it was rough getting the America, but didn’t know it was that bad once they got there also. Thinking of this from my own perspective in the time period I don’t know if I could of handled that. If I had come over around the age of 10-15 and had to work until I was 21? That’s pretty brutal, especially given the person that purchased me. They could be nice or just plain vicious. It would all be up to luck and chance really. I saw mention in the book that one owner mention something about indentured servants that were lazy or ran away. I could see me being one of the ones that ran away. Especially since it also was said that the “Freedom Dues” sometimes weren’t even enough money to buy land and get started. If I had the feeling that that was the case I would definitely consider abandoning the place and running as far away as I could. Anything would be better than risking dying while working without having enough to gain to buy my own land, in my opinion.

Movie Night in America! Tin-Tin-two-twenty
I saw Tin Tin last night, and I'm still not entirely sure of what to make of this movie. The visuals were really cool and the 3D wasn't half bad in this movie. It was full of lots of action and some funny moments. So why do I still not know how I feel about it? I'm really not sure.
The visuals and 3D were easily the best parts about the movie. It looked really good and some of the characters almost looked like real actors at some points.
The action was almost the whole movie, but it was very all over the place and at some points too insane. Like one scene where they literally destroyed a whole city in a desert area just to try to make sure they acquired 3 pieces of paper. Not to mention a random tank in the middle of a hotel? There were also two bumbling idiots cops to provide moments of humor.
Overall though I didn't really like or dislike this movie. I'm sort of "eh" about the whole thing. Rather neutral, it seems. Best part of the movie? The trailers especially The Hobbit. That looks awesome.

Magical Regal Adventures Part 1: The Devil Inside
Being a manager at a regal theater is so awesome. Why? People bitch about stupid things to us. Why? Because we obviously have this company has upper management that totally listens to managers at its various locations. This could have a post all its own, but I digress, back to the topic at hand.
So, I was getting concession ready for the final round of the night (Stupid hour regulations from HR allows us to only have 3 people trying to struggle through helping all the people) and I needed to get them a few sleeves of medium cups. That probably had no need for them but I just wanted us to be prepared since The Devil Inside has been doing a TON of business for such a crap movie. Anyways, I make my way over to theater 7 which is showing Devil Inside and also is the store room for some of our stock, specifically the cups. Of course right when I get there it starts letting out and I'm chillin' up against the wall listening to various people commenting about how crap the ending was (common amongst movie goers, I understand). So, I see a lull in people coming out so I make my movie and jump around the corner only to have more people. So I sort of jump into the area to the side of the door and wait there.
As I stand there what do I hear? Some lady commented very audibly for me to obviously hear "You guys should be ashamed for charging people for that movie". My reply was to her very loudly "OK". Then I walked in and got my cups. What was I thinking and wanted to say to her? It goes a little bit like this...
How this Should Have Gone:
Fat Bitch: You Guys should be ashamed for charging people for that movie.
Me: No, you fat whore, YOU should be ashamed for PAYING and COMING to SEE this movie. Ever heard of the INTERNET? Its this magical word of computers where you can find out if a movie is GOOD OR BAD. You made the conscious effort to avoid this magical device...so no we should NOT be ashamed. Good Day, Ugly bitch.
Only down side to that? Probably would of lost my job....but it would of been an amazing way to go out.....
