NL Postseason Picks

Arizona Diamondbacks Vs. Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers Have Power up and down their lineup with Fielder and Braun leading the charge.  The acquisitions of Marcum and Grienke have been huge for this team's rotation.  They will have to try to slow down the Diamondbacks on the base paths and the Brewers need to find a way to get their extra base power going on the road.  The Brewers look like the better team in every aspect.  Therefore, I see the Diamondbacks getting past the Brew Crew.  Gut feeling is all.

St. Louis Cardinals Vs. Philadelphia Phillies

The Cardinals have been on of the hottest teams down the stretch surpassing the Braves to claim the wild card spot.  The Phillies set a franchise record with 102 wins anchored by their impressive Starting Rotation.  The Cards can RAKE.  Their bullpen is one of the worst bullpen ERA's in the postseason.  I really see Philly getting to that pen and shutting down the Cards hitting with their own starters.  I just don't see Philly losing to the Cards, not this year.  I'd love to see the Cards play the Rays in the World Series though, as a side note (A combined 17 games back on September 1st).  Therefore, I see the Phillies advancing to the NLCS.

Arizona Diamondbacks Vs. Philadelphia Phillies

A scrappy team in the D-Backs versus a powerful team in the Phillies?  I just don't see the Phillies losing this series.  Their Rotation and Pen will shut down the D-Backs hitters and the way the Phillies hitters work the count so much the D-Backs rotation will have to throw a lot of pitches and their pitch count will get high early.  Phillies Advance.

So, I'm picking the Philadelphia Phillies to advance to the World Series.  Yea, its a pretty standard pick.  I know.  I just love their rotation so much.  Lee, Halladay, Hamels, Oswalt.  Those 4 right there are all number one starters on other teams.  Its just too much pitching.  Their hitting only has to be decent to advance...let alone if they start rolling.  If they do, look out.

Tigers and the Phillies are up next.
