Wrong

So, already my predictions for how the baseball playoffs would go is wrong. Wrong wrong wrong.  I thought for sure Tampa would be able to get past Texas.  Nope.  Nada.  Fail.  I could still get the final match-up correct with my Picks of Detroit-Philly.

Detroit is making me worried though.  They had a chance to shut it out in MoTown in game 4.  All they had to do was beat Aj Burnett.  Sounds like a gimmie, right?  Of course he has a really good game and the Tigers were not able to finish it off.  So, we have a game 5 match-up tomorrow night of Fister-Nova.  This worries me.  Why?  Fister has never really been a big strike-out guy.  Hes more of an off speed guy that can get strike-outs from time to time.  He averages giving up 8.9 hits per 9 innings in his career but on 8 hits per inning this season.  Why does this scare me?  Well, against a team like the Yankees who like to work the count a guy like Fister could struggle big time.  If hes a guy that pitches to contact, thats scary.  New York feasts on those type of pitchers.  Believe me, I know.  Seeing my Twins pitchers struggle year in and year out against them.  It takes a strike-out guy to beat them, especially in a deciding do-or-die game such as this.  I hope Fister proves me wrong and pitches a gem and beats the Yanks.  On paper this looks like a Yankee win at home in the Bronx.  However, There is a reason they play the games and champions are not decided on paper.  Boston knows that all too well.

I'm a little surprised they are not considering pitching Verlander in game 5 and plan to go with Ordonez in right field.  Austin Jackson is a good defender, but Ordonez is slow and Young is decent but sometimes just looks lost in the outfield.  I'm really worried for my pick now.....

Oh well, Time to continue watching the Philly-Cards match-up.
