My NFL wildcard Weekend picks!

Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans

I'll take the Bengals in this one.  Texans are down to what seems like their 80th string QB and are starting Jake Delhomme.  Woooooooo, all the confidence in them Texans!

Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints

I'm picking the Saints because they absolutely embarrassed the Lions when they played earlier this year.

Atlanta Falcons at New York Giants

This one I don't know about....I'll take Atlanta though.  Giants Secondary is still pretty awful.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos

Steelers.  Denver can't put up enough points to beat a quality opponent.

Movie night in America! Yeah!

In this installment in MOVIE NIGHT IN AMERICA we bring you.....The Darkest Hour.

Which was quite dark and by dark I mean terrible.  They should of called it "The Worst-most-expensive-3D-waste-of-a-movie-ever Hour".  I'd pay to see a movie with that title.  This movie was essentially about two dudes in Moscow, for some reason doing some thing with some phone app that some douche stole.  Yet you don't really know how any of them are connected nor do you give a shit.  They meet two other Americans in Moscow, for some other unknown reason....but hey, does it really matter in a movie such as this?  THEN ALL THE LIGHTS GOT OUT IN DA CLUB.  Oh, and the light aliens show up and start eating people or whatever they were doing to them.  Some crazy psycho dude came up with the idea that a gun of electricity might be able to hurt them.  It ends up being able to knock their electro-shields down so they can be shot...WITH GUNS.  And once they are shot?  THEY EXPLODE.  Seriously, Explode?  Did a 5 year old write this?  The flying squid monsters explode into hardened pieces of rock.  Wow.  Genius.  The only character I felt bad for at any point in this movie was the crazy guy (sort of), but I mostly felt bad for his cat.

I mean, this mofo had these sweet clubhouse that the electric squid orb fags couldn't see.  He could just chill here and have a good time.  However, he let the american bros in and they immediately had their females FUCK THINGS UP.  Ugh.  They should of followed the random russian chick's advice instead of leading the monster squid back to the clubhouse.  This lead to the crazy guy biting it and having the cat, forced to wear christmas lights, run out of the apartment.  You never hear what happens to the cat.  The cat is the one I felt most bad for.  He had it good.  Living in a safe house, plenty of food, and a dude that sang to him/her.  Miller High Life, thats for sure.  Thats what THAT cat was livin'.

Terrible.

Hey, at least it was better than Skyline.

I give it 1.2 out of 12 Hamburgers.  The 1.2 was because it had a cat in it and I like cats.

My gaming goals in 2012

  • Replay Fable 3 as an evil person
  • Play and beat Dead Space 2
  • Getting the "Make the Hall of Fame" achievement in MLB 2k10 and 2k11
  • Beat Halo Wars
  • Finish Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
  • Finish Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

A new Redskins QB wrinkle....

I got to thinking today.  Instead of the Skins drafting a QB what if they try to sign the Packer's back-up QB Matt Flynn?  Then they could continue to stockpile picks and draft more tools to help the team and not focus on drafting a QB in the first round.  The two studs of the draft will more than likely be off the board unless they attempt to trade up in the draft.  They have NO shot at getting Andrew Luck now, Colts are taking him 1 overall its a lock, they would have to trade up for RG3.

If they sign Flynn they wouldn't have to trade up at all.  They could take some more weapons on offense and some more blocking for the QB.  I still think they will try to trade up and take Robert Griffin the 3rd.  Just wondering about the possibilities that exist out there.....

Nice Job Jags.....

Well, the Jacksonville Jaguars managed to beat the Colts today.  Whats the significance of two awful teams playing each other to end the season?  Well, thanks to the Jags the Colts now get the number 1 pick in the draft and plan to take Andrew Luck.  Luck is essentially the second coming of Manning.  Great job Jags.  You've seen your division get dominated by Manning for the last decade or more.  All the Jags had to do was tank this one game...not for their own future but for the future of the whole division.  Now the Colts are going to have another QB to lead them into the next decade.  The Jags owe an apology to the rest of the AFC South.

All you had to do was tank this one game...and hope the Rams found a way to lose (which isn't a done deal).  Well, have fun getting your secondary decimated for the next decade or more Jags fans.

You guys Earned it.

Top 10 Sports moments: Francisco Liriano No-Hitter

It was May 3rd, 2011.  I was at Regal.  Working.  As usual.  I was following the baseball game on my phone, as I usually do.  I remember Jason Kubel hit a homerun early in the game and the Twins not doing anything else for a while.  Then all of a sudden I got a message alert from ESPN saying Liriano had a no-hitter through 7.  I was like...what.  I then figured he'd give up a hit sooner or later.  By the time it came around the 8th with no hits I was feeling he might pull it off.  At this point I managed to bail out of regal, on the clock, and head over to B-Dubs.  I actually sat down at a table close to the T.V. showing the game and had a waitress come over and tried to take my order.  I told her I was only there to see the end of the game.  It was pretty boss.  They weren't busy so I didn't feel guilty for taking a table for any period of time.

I got there for the whole bottom of the 9th inning.  Mostly all I remember of it was Liriano giving up a walk and then Adam Dunn coming to the plate.  I kept thinking in the back of my head he was going to hit a Homerun right in this spot.  Not only would it break up the No-Hitter but it would also win the game for the White Sox.  Oh how I despise the White Sox.  I remember him hitting a line drive (not sure to who.  either shortstop or third base) and thinking "oh man, here goes the No-Hitter.  I wasted my time coming over here and jinxed it by being here".  However, the ball was caught and he had done it!  I was excited.  I felt happy and proud to be a Twins fan and see something as awesome as that happen to one of the Teams I rooted for.  It was one of the very few highlights from an abysmal, lost season.

Best part about it?  It came against the White Sox.  : )

I later got my Liriano Signed baseball in the mail a few days later.  Epic.

It is here!

Happy New Year everyone!  I'm currently ringing in the new year at the movie theater again!  Sucks....but what can ya do.  At least I'm off tomorrow on the 1st!  Only thing that is worry-some is driving home on new years eve...STAY AWAY FROM MY SEXY CAR YOU DRUNKS.
